The autonomous region of Madeira, Portugal is located on the Atlantic Ocean. It has a popoulation of 250,000 inhabitants. It is known as the pearl of the Atlantic. The region of Madeira has 2 inhabited islands, the main one which is Madeira and the other island is Porto Santo. It also has a few islands that are not inhabited. Madeira is a region where the islands are from a volcanic origin, the same as the Azores, Canary Islands, Cape Verde and Macaronesia.

To speak of Madeira is to speak of it's region, sun, great climate and proximity to the nroth of the Canary Islands, only 400 kms and the Iberian Penninsula, only 800kms away. Geographically speaking it is practically in the African Continent.
